"AWANA"
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed ( 2 Timothy 2:15 ). The goal of AWANA is to reach elementary-age students for Christ, to train them to understand and rightly handle the Word of truth, to love Him, and to love others, all in a context of fun and excitement.

Cubbies / Early Preschool Ministry
Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3-5-year-olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son, and His Word.

Sparks / Elementary Ministry
Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids K-2 to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.

T&T / Elementary Ministry
The T&T (Truth & Training) curriculum teaches kids in grades 3rd-6th the truth of God’s Word and trains them to follow Him and practice His grace.
WELCOME TO AWANA
Ottumwa Community Church is happy to announce our 17th year of our AWANA club this fall. We are looking forward to the 2026/2027 season.
Our AWANA chartered church offers a Wednesday evening Bible-nurturing ministry based on scripture memory for children aged 3 years through 6th grade from 6:00-8:00 p.m. that focuses on learning God’s Word and the Gospels in a fun atmosphere. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
Each week, AWANA provides consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. AWANA staff and leaders are trained and background checked. Leaders, together with parents, create a spiritually nurturing environment to help kids grow in their knowledge of scripture and their walk of faith.
We Offer Three Clubs
Cubby’s 3 years old – pre-kindergarten
Sparks K – 2nd grade
Truth and Training 3rd – 6th grades
Our club meets from 6:00 – 8:00

WHO WE ARE
Knowing | Growing | Going
We are a body of believers that believe in the fundamental need and desire of the heart to know God. We believe that after knowing Christ, there is a desire to grow into a mature follower of Christ and finally we believe there is a desire to share the wonderful news of the Savior with others.
Hello and welcome to Ottumwa Community Church!
Join us Sunday morning in the coffee house for coffee and goodies.
Our vision is life transformation from relationship with Christ and Christ like relationships with others.
